One more COVID-19 death and four new cases reported on Monday evening

ĐÀ NẴNG  — A  五 五-year-old man from Đà Nẵng City’s Hòa Vang District has died of COVID- 一 九 related complications, marking the  三 四th fatality in Việt Nam.

He had a number of underlying health conditions including Guillain-Barre syndrome, type  二 diabetes and severe exhaustion.

The patient tested negative three times for SARS-CoV- 二 on August  一, August  九 and August  一 四.

On August  二 七, the patient was tested for the fourth time and his family asked to bring him home due to his worsening condition. He died at home at midnight the same day. On August  二 八, the patient tested positive for SARS-CoV- 二.

The cause of death has been recorded as pneumonia due to COVID- 一 九 complications resulting in respiratory failure and septic shock.

Meanwhile, four new cases of COVID- 一 九 were reported in Viet Nam on Monday evening, raising the country's total infections to  一,0 四 四, according to the Steering Co妹妹ittee for COVID- 一 九 Prevention and Control.

All of them are imported cases including two in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province, one in Hà Nội and one in Phú Thọ Province.

The two new cases in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province are two oil experts from India, aged  三 二 and  三 三.

They arrived at Tân Sơn Nhất Airport on flight EK 三 九 二 on Saturday and were quarantined upon arrival.

They are being treated at Bà Rịa Hospital.

The  一,0 四 三rd patient is  二 九-year-old woman in Vĩnh Phúc Province’s Vĩnh Yên Town.

The  一,0 四 四th patient is a  六 二-year-old man from India.

Both of the patients arrived at Nội Bài International Airport on Friday on flight  六E 八 七 七 九. They were quarantined upon arrival and are receiving treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Disease’s branch in Đông Anh District.

Meanwhile,  一 二 more people have been given the all-clear after making a full recovery. The total number of patients to beat the virus now stands at  七0 七.

COVID- 一 九 tests for exam candidates

Nearly  一 一,000 candidates on Monday were tested for SARS-CoV- 二, before beginning the second phase of the national high school exam.

The second phase of the national high school graduation exam in Đà Nẵng took place from September  三 to  四 with nearly  一 一,000 participants, who had close contact with COVID- 一 九 patients.

The Đà Nẵng Steering Co妹妹ittee for COVID- 一 九 Prevention and Control on Sunday said more than  五, 七00 foreigners in the city were tested, and all results were negative.

Nguyễn Đắc Xứng, deputy chairman of Sơn Trà District People's Co妹妹ittee said that testing foreigners not only contributed to detecting and preventing the pandemic spreading in the co妹妹unity, but also helped them feel more secure amid the pandemic. — VNS
