BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — The Tân Cảng Cái Mép-Thị Vải port in the southern province of Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu successfully received a 一 六0,000-tonne container ship on Monday.
This is the second port in the Thị Vải-Cái Mép port complex receiving a 一 六0,000-tonne ship.
Earlier, Cái Mép International Terminal (CMIT) welcomed ships with the capacity of 一 六0,000 tonnes and over.
The Tân Cảng Cái Mép-Thị Vải is a deep-water port in Tân Thành District. It is allowed to receive ships of 一 六0,000 weight starting from February 二0 by the Vietnam Maritime Administration.
Vũ Kim Duẩn, director of the port, said that the first welcome for a 一 六0,000-tonne ship showed the port’s capacity to receive and provide loading and unloading services for international container ships. — VNS
